We will be using Squeak 3.9 environment for all the assignments except Homework 1 because of some compatibiliy issues. Follow the instruction at Squeak Download if you need to install Squeak 3.9 on your own computer. Use the links on the top right of the page to download the default installation for your platform.
For the first assignment, get acquainted with Squeak. Download and
install it (it works on many platforms), and browse the ReadMe file (you should see it inside the environment when you start it for the first time). The ReadMe file will teach you about some of the paradigms used in Squeak (worlds, etc.).
CS598REJ has a wiki - an online forum. Check it out, at SWiki then, go to the People in the course section, and add yourself to the class. Create a page for yourself, and put your e-mail address in it. Write something about yourself too so that everyone in the course can get to know you better. If you never used a SWiki you should read the Help from the left pane.
This wiki requires a password to write. Use the account "johnson" and the password "password". This isn't meant to be secure, it is just meant to keep out wiki-spam.
