P R O B L E M

People who use more than one computer are often faced with the problem of not being able to access pages they have book-marked, because the bookmark in question was saved on another computer. They often fall back on writing the URL on a scrap of paper, or e-mailing it to themselves.

V I S I O N

The vision of this project is to create a website from which users can save their bookmarks and access them from other computers. Users will be able to categorize the bookmarks and manage these categories. They will be able to sort the bookmarks by category or alphabetically. They will also be able to determine if these bookmarks are publicly viewable (not requiring a password), or privately viewable (requiring a password). If there is time to spare, additional features will be added.

Questions

How do you export/inport bookmarks? Are you just going to do this for one browser (like IE) or is there some portable way? It seems to me that the hard part is getting the bookmarks in and out of the browsers. If that is easy then this is a good project. Ralph Johnson
