GIFs for inclusion

1. Get something on the squeak screen that you would like to use as an illustration. Pick a screen shot segment that will be useful in more than one situation. Use the grab patch or lasso tool from the supplies bin to capture the screen shot. Then on the new sketch's red icon menu, select "export" and export to GIF.
2. Give it a name that is consistent with some overall naming scheme yet to be described, but suggested at least in part by my examples below. Participants are invited to create a hierarchical naming convention.
3. Navigate to this page (ideally, you were here first).
4. Click on the "uploads" icon, and select the buttons that say "upload to this swiki" (not to the page) and "add a reference to the upload to the end of the page".
5. Navigate to your file by browsing, click upload, and when you're done come back to the main view for this page. The image should be at the bottom.
6. Edit this page, separate the image from the others by a horizontal line (underscore). And include the name of the link in text. If you're really industrious, you can add text showing the name of the image. But people should be able to see this upon mouseover in whatever part of their browser shows web-address for links. Feel free to move things into sections, and include an organizing collection of links to the sections on top of the page. The way to refer to an image is to delimit the filename by asterisk-plus on the left, and plus-asterisk on the right. Again, make sure the file is uploaded to the swiki, not to this particular page, since otherwise to link to it to include would probably require a pathname including the particular page.
